Overview

People spend more than 1/3 of their time commuting, mostly in their cars. For people who spend long hours on the road but want to keep informed, AudioOne FYI offers a convenient method to access the most important news and material. This platform enables users to make the most of their commute, transforming what would otherwise be lost time into an opportunity to stay up to date without missing a beat.

Problem

For busy individuals, the challenge lies in finding a solution that allows them to effortlessly stay up-to-date without sacrificing their valuable time or focus during their commute. Without an efficient way to consume relevant content on the go, many commuters are left feeling disconnected and overwhelmed, struggling to keep up with the fast pace of the world around them.

"I like to listen to content while I’m doing other things, like working out or cooking.
I need something efficient that lets me keep up with the news without having to stop what I’m doing."

"I’m always looking for smart integrations that allow me to seamlessly listen to news through my devices, whether I’m on my phone or in the car. It should be easy and connected."

"With my packed schedule, I need a quick and easy way to stay updated on the go.
I don’t have time to sift through news articles; I just want the information delivered to me."

Understanding:

Visualize the emotional journey

I used experience mapping techniques to create a visual journey of the persona, including all of the interactions during the travel as well as the feelings that the persona experienced. This made it evident where our consumers were having problems and helped me identify where I should focus:
I simply want the information I need provided to me easily and efficiently through audio.

Context:

Target Users

I’ve chosen to focus on users aged 25 to 65, busy commuters and multitaskers who prefer consuming news on the go.

Researching what the world say

I recruited 10 participants who match the target demographics. This helped me gain deeper insights into their needs and aspirations. I have gained the following key insights

This project was highly successful and offered valuable insights into balancing innovation with practicality.
Initially, my goal was to introduce cutting-edge features that would set AudioOne FYI apart in the audio streaming industry. However, I quickly learned that innovation doesn’t always require entirely new ideas. Sometimes, optimizing existing processes and features can lead to equally impactful results. The most important takeaway was that enhancing user experience should always be the priority, even when working within the constraints of established platform structures.
